Help to Build Our Future: A New Boathouse for Oxford Amateur Rowing Club

The Oxford Amateur Rowing Club, (known as Accies), is at a crucial juncture. After more than 10 years at the Isis Boathouse, we must say farewell to our old home, owing to a change in ownership. Sadly, we were given notice and now find ourselves in urgent need of a new home.

While we are pleased that the boathouse is staying within the rowing community, we are in urgent need of a new home. We have been working hard to find a place suitable place and secure a future for our club and its members. We are raising funds for an initial semi-permanent structure to store out boats (and our club spirit) and in the longer term to build a boathouse thereby creating a permanent foundation for the generations of Accies to come.

Why should you help Accies?

We are one of the few town rowing clubs that blends competitiveness with a community feel. Among us are rowers in their early 20s to mid-60s, born and raised locally or in many different corners of the globe. Some have been rowing since their school days, while others got into a boat for the first time just six months ago, thanks to our Learn to Row courses. We are a tight-knit community, diverse in age, experience, background, and nationality. But it’s our club that brings us together, and it’s our shared love of rowing that keeps us united.

How can you help?

We invite everyone in the rowing and local community to join us in building a home for Accies. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our goal.

Join us in this campaign, and let’s create a new chapter in the history of the Oxford Amateur Rowing Club.

Give a little to our club and we’ll give back a lot to our community.
